It is a little after 7:30 am on Monday morning and I am thanking God for a new day. The reason for the heading on this post is simply because that is exactly the opposite what happened during our worship celebrations yesterday. In other words Unreasonable would be more the word of the day. I woke up yesterday morning around 3 am sick with some horrific stomach bug (I know gross) I wasn't sure how I would be able to lead worship but was determined to push myself beyond reason and count on God to do what He can only do and that is take completely over me and allow me to lead.
We made it through set up and warm up and low and behold my mic started to go out and then actually went out (you may not think this is a big deal except for we were 5 minutes from first celebration kicking off). All I could think is satan you are good you know right where and right when to strike. But as God can always do He made a way we quickly ran a new mic (which by the way was corded and I always use a cordless so I felt a little restraint) as the worship kicked off I felt like I could just die at any moment and you know there are many kinds of embarrassment but spewing on the whole front row would be one I would never recover from "but God" He said watch and see - at one point I am almost certain 90 % of our church was lifting their hands and were filled with the presence of God and wow as sick as I was I at that point didn't even think about being sick. But just as soon as the music part of the worship celebration ended I quickly remembered how sick I was and I headed towards home praying I could return in time for the second hour.
My oldest daughter is home visiting and in the few minutes I was home she kept saying mom I don't think you should go back, but I knew I had to you see I have only missed leading worship 1 time because of sickness and that was only because I had just come home 2 hours before from an all night hospital stay where they told me I had a spot on my brain but that is a whole other story....I made it back and enlightened my band I may have to bail at any moment and they quickly took their lives in their own hands and laid hands on me and prayed over me.
Ok where am I going with this - lets get back to the word reasonable:not exceeding the limit prescribed by reason well we broke the rules with that description during worship. God showed up in a miraculous way and took completely over our worship which He normally does but yesterday was different. Both celebrations were filled with exuberant worshippers both celebrations were filled with God's anointing -
You see at one point I scanned the band as I normally do making eye contact with each of them and I look over and our newest grandpa of the bunch who we call Country Boy which if you know Jamie you know he comes by that name honestly well he and one of the girls who normally cuts loose anyways were jumping (worshipping like crazy) and not only was he jumping he continued to play his guitar never missing a beat then I pan to my left and my lead guitarist was not even touching his guitar (and the band was smoking hot) and he had his arms above his head leading the church in above the head clapping :) all I could think at this point is "what's happening on this stage" I remember saying to God "You are Amazing only YOU could do this"
I say all this to make this point - when we can't HE CAN when we try to reason with God we can only get UNREASONABLE because only God could do what He did yesterday for this sick sick worship pastor...which by the way I am much better today just feeling like someone beat me up. And our band UNDERCOVER really earned their namesake yesterday cause they had me covered as God covered them.
Thanks be to God for BEING GOD and thanks to my worship band for being obedient to the King and pushing me beyond reason and taking us to a whole new place we haven't yet been...ALL FOR THE KING

Thanks for the sacrifice of praise. It was over-the-top worship!
"I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you; I will praise your name, O Lord, for it is good." - Psalm 54:6 (NIV)
I wondered what happened when there was a sound check going on between services. I only knew of technical difficulties - but prayed that God would take control of whatever was happening. The service was totally Awesome! God was definitely there. Thank you so much for following God's direction and leading us to His Throne. I thank God constantly for the Godly Pastors we have at Cobblestone. I am glad that you are feeling better!!
