When Evil Triumphs

"All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing"

I will never forget the first time I watched the movie "Tears Of The Sun" it was one of the most gut wrenching movies I have ever watched....at the end of the movie right before the credits started came these words - ‘All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing’ I instantly thought about how true that is of the church. How in the world do we day in and day out allow evil to triumph because we don't take a stand against the wiles of satan. After all we were warned in scripture that he lurks around seeking who he may devour...I Peter 5:8...why is it that we allow satan to have his day and allow him to walk all over our church, our friends, our families, and our pastors and we do nothing. What I have seen over the past years in the ministry is the writer of the movie "Tears Of The Sun" has figured out what the church has yet to get that satan will devour us....but only...if we let him....he only has the power that we give him. God has given us the tools we need to stand against satan but we instead allow him to walk around defeating us at every turn. I am so tired of seeing my family, my friends, my church let satan have his way and I am wondering if there really is anyone out there willing to stand against the wiles of the devil...

We have the tools - when will we use them?

Ephesians 6:11-18
Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
