BELIEVE!

"To have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something...Only if one believes in something can one act purposefully.''

I was in captured with this word during and for quiet some time after band rehearsal last night - in fact so much so I could not get the word off my mind and even contemplated it over and over this morning. One of the worship songs we are singing this week is "With All I Am" and wow what a song but my favorite line is right when the song breaks to the chorus it says "Jesus I believe in You" You know our very lives are dependent upon that one word BELIEVE, it is the truth on which we stand and base our very existence. True BELIEF in the God we serve the creator of the universe. True Belief in Jesus Christ and Him alone as our Savior and Lord.

When I looked up the dictionary meaning it was clear why I am hooked today on this word....ONLY IF ONE BELIEVES IN SOMETHING CAN ONE ACT PURPOSEFULLY - it is amazing that watching someones life, their walk, you can tell what they believe in....put it to the test just watch people and you can tell what they believe in - that is why as Christ followers it is vital - it is vital - that our walk measures up to our talk. We want people to know OUR GOD then let's show them we believe in HIM by the way we live our lives, by the way we walk, by the way we talk, by the way we worship, by the way we love others. I could go on and on but I think the message is clear....Oh and let me add this: Everybody believes in something - but what is it others know about what we believe?

Father God my prayer is that my life is a clear picture that I BELIEVE in you and that I "act purposefully" in doing so, so that everyone in my path knows I am a BELIEVER in YOU! Please God let my walk measure up to my talk every single day of my life. AMEN!
