Psalm 118:24
This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.
You know this verse has new meaning today. We have a new series starting this Sunday called "ReSet" and our theme song for the series is "Today Is The Day" by Lincoln Brewster. The series is going to teach us that Jesus can ReSet things in our life. The catch phrase is "DONT YOU WISH LIFE HAD A RESET BUTTON" We all can echo that phrase with a LOUD - YES! After not feeling well the past 2 weeks I was so happy to go into practice last night with my band and just be able to be there (be all there). As we started to develop this new song man were we having fun (I was having fun) I guess I should let the band speak for themselves but I love watching God create something new in and through us and watching "Under Cover" they were certainly having fun, and God started doing some amazing things....The words to this song are awesome -
Verse 1
I'm casting my cares aside
I'm leaving my past behind
I'm setting my heart and mind on You Jesus
I'm reaching my hands to Yours
Believing there's so much more
Knowing that all You have in store for me is good
It's good
Chorus
Today is the day You have made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
Today is the day You have made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
And I won't worry about tomorrow
I'm trusting in what You say
Today is the day today is the day
Verse 2
I'm putting my fears aside
I'm leaving my doubts behind
I'm giving my hopes and dreams to You Jesus
I'm reaching my hands to Yours
Believing there's so much more
Knowing that all You have in store for me is good
It's good
Bridge
I will stand upon Your truth
And all my days I'll live for You
Just think what everyday of our lives could be like if we could start our day by claiming Ps 118:24 - This is the day the Lord has made - I WILL rejoice and be glad in it... I would love to get to a place in my life that I could rejoice in this scripture even on the bad days, even on the days I don't feel like rejoicing, especially on the days I am weakest. I know God would honor us if when we just don't feel like worshipping we would take the advise a friend of mine gave me and "press in" and truly say "Today is the day...I will rejoice"
That's the mindset - the attitude - I want us as a church to get to this week. A mindSET, a heartSET, a soulSET, a bodySET and spiritSET on rejoicing even when we just don't want to, even we don't feel like it and yes even when we say, "we can't" remember God says, "yes you can" (Phi 4:13)
Let's worship ON PURPOSE this week not just this Sunday but how about starting "today" and let's just challenge God and see what He can and will do in our lives and in our church and in our worship if we say "THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE - I WILL REJOICE, WE WILL REJOICE, AND BE GLAD IN IT....
Let's just see what can happen if we all arrive hungry on Sunday - HUNGRY to love on our KING!
GOT It - GET it - LET"S GO
