What A Day!

By far one of the top 5 happiest days of my life watching my oldest daughter graduate college tonight in Dallas Tx. Watching her and seeing who she has become was amazing. Knowing my kid graduated with honors was overwhelming for me. Spending the last 24 hours with my family has been wonderful being with my brother and sister in law from California, my folks, my girls, my hubby and my future son in law has just made me smile, I'm totally exhausted from Dallas traffic and all the hustle and bustle of the big city you don't realize how quiet rural living is til you return to the busy life. Oh and all my Ohio buddies will love this it snowed in Dallas today and the town my parents live in 2 hours north of Dallas had freezing rain bad enough the road to get there closed so we are spending another day in Dallas instead of at my parents where we would be eating moms home cooking (biscuits with chocolate gravy) instead we will have hotel continental breakfast.

So what's the spiritual significance of all this well the significance is this we have babies raise them best we can then one day we watch them grow into adults and we know there's no way possible they would have become who they are if it weren't for an amazing God who led the way. He says "I will direct your steps" seeing the path clearly tonight how Kim went from being ripped away from her friends she grew up with from her last 2 years of highschool moving her 1000 miles from everything she had ever known watching her cry her eyes out because we were ruining her life to 4 yrs later walking across a stage wearing a gold sashe around her neck displaying the honor she achieved watching her smile knowing she fought through all the pain through all the tears knowing she left home in Ohio to chase her dreams of becoming a designer and achieving the training to do that knowing that at every turn she was abandoned by family and by friends but she wouldn't quit she wouldn't give up she just pressed on makes me jump up and shout, "that's my kid!" Yep, I'm one proud momma beaming from ear to ear. Definitely one of the happiest days of my life. Be proud of your kids even when they hurt you even when they leave to chase their dreams remember if you love them and train them well one day you'll realize wow that's my kid and you'll look back over the years and see how God directed every single step.
