The word waiting has a whole new meaning to me this very moment. For many years one of my favorite scriptures has been Isaiah 40:31 "those that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength" and even though the waiting I'm experiencing right now may be completely different than the waiting Isaiah was referring to, it is not renewing my strength but zapping it dry. Wow you say that's not very encouraging from a worship pastor. Well let's put it in perspective.
At this moment I'm no pastor, I'm a momma "waiting" for my first grandbaby to make his arrival sometime in the next day or two. KC wasn't suppose to be here until Aug 16 but decided he'd plan a lil surprise for the Brown/Racioppa family and come early. So here we are 16 hours in to this thing called labor and delivery.
Setting in a hospital watching your first born go through the birthing process is no cake walk it's alot of work. Work on the heart mind soul and spirit. You do alot of praying, alot of worrying, alot of pacing, alot of jumping up and down, alot of everything, in fact Kim and Cory are sound asleep and I (aka GaGa) am wide awake watching them sleep thinking of how much our lives are changing and I'm watching the babies heart monitor as if I know what it all even means. I've had alot of emotions today that I've never had, felt excitement I've never felt, and who knows but God alone how much more waiting we have to go through before that baby boy makes his debut. I was just thinking boy leading worship will have a whole new spin next time I lead I'll be leading as a grandma. Hey if Darlene Zschech can do it so can I. We would sure covet your prayers as we wait through this process.
My grandbaby will be 5 weeks early so please pray him healthy and strong, my daughter I'm sure will be very tired and ready to hold her son, but wow what a trooper she's being, Cory started football this week at MU so I know he's overwhelmed with a new baby, a new football team, a new life, but oh what a guy God brought into our family, Bruce (grandpa) well if he's anything like he was when Kim was born he'll be a mess, so far he's just staying busy, Kylee is very anxious to start spoiling her nephew, and I can't forget my precious parents who left Texas for Ohio as soon as they heard the news so please pray them here safe that's a long road for 2 soon to be great grandparents. And me I just need strength as I stay strong for my kids and "wait" upon the Lord to safely bring into this world our baby who HE knew before he was in his mothers womb.
Yes, waiting has a whole new meaning for me as does sleep!
