It's 6:30 pm Sunday evening do you know where your worship pastor is? I am setting in awe of our creator, resting in the shadow of His holiness, and enjoying the most beautiful sunset I may have ever seen. I am on a short get away from my crazy life (a life I love but one that wears me out) I am in Old Mission Michigan setting on a beach, freezing at the moment, hoodie is on tight enough that I can endure the cold to ensure I don't miss one moment of tonights sunset.
This morning I decided it would be a day full of seeing God in all his glory through his great creation. We drove to a small quaint little lighthouse, then on to an old general store, then drove the shoreline looking at beautiful blue blue blue picture perfect lake Michigan and seeing some of the biggest homes I've ever seen (and I'm from Dallas) I saw gorgeous vineyards and cherry trees for miles, stopped and bought apples like I've never tasted before or even heard of.
For me there's nothing like getting away on an adventure I've never been on, seeing things I've never seen, eating places I've never eaten, and experiencing God like never before. We take so for granted this life we've been given and I thank God for the desire inside me to never settle for less than the very best. I love the way God lines up these short get aways just for me so He can get to my heart and soul a bit different than in my regular routine of life. I thank God that I have a team back home that carries the baton well when I'm on one of my retreats and a family that is just use to me saying think I'll take a trip for a few days.
Thanks God for showing up on this lil peninsula today and sharing the day with me. I feel blessed beyond measure and more in love with my Savior than ever. Looking forward to what tomorrows adventures hold and how I will encounter Him!
Loving God, Loving each other, and the story never ends!
