"The reputation of a thousand years may be determined by the conduct of one hour."
I wonder how many people through out their lifetimes have completely altered their reputation because they did not count the cost of that one moment in time that could and would change their life and the lives of those around them FOREVER. Not only did it change their lives but it destroyed their reputation.
I've just recently learned (personally) the hard way that sometimes our reputation can be ruined and tarnished by someone else's bad decisions to ruin another persons reputation by either not keeping confidences or by flat out lies that are spread to try and elevate themselves by tearing down another.
I will never understand this attitude - I have many enemies or people that don't care for me. These same people in one way or another whether first handedly or through the grapevine have helped to tarnish or destroy my reputation by spreading lies, or rumors. What's most interesting about this attitude is not once has a single person involved in the rumors trying to destroy me have yet to even call me, email me or text me to find out what my take might be on the situation. Somedays I get sick of betrayal so much so my own flesh starts to desire revenge. BUT God says revenge is HIS and He also says MAKE YOURSELF OF NO REPUTATION. So I will "stand down" and watch my God have His day, and He will have His day.
I am challenging myself going into 2012 to live out my convictions and beliefs and when all hell comes against me, when people seek to destroy me when Satan comes searching for me - I'll be found standing down waiting on the Lord to finish the game with one simple word "checkmate" GAME OVER!
Seeking to not worry what people think of me...but...deeply worrying what my King thinks!
