Tonight, after weeks of trying, I finally made it to Dallas House Of Prayer. I have been following them on twitter and the web for some time, and was intrigued by what I read each week.
As the band was rehearsing, a friend and I set in the cafe just outside of the prayer room and as I listened to the band rehearse I could barely hold a convo with my friend because I was busy listening in as intently as possible to what was taking place on the other side of the main doors.
The presence was strong even as we entered in the front doors to the cafe and all who greeted us were so loving and friendly and personable. Finally the doors opened and worship began. There were 3 girls and 2 guys leading and they did a phenomenal job leading the crowd to the throne room.
After worship Chuck Horning got up to speak and I knew this young guy would be great you can just tell sometimes by the way people conduct themselves whether they have it or not (HE DID) Thanks Chuck for your heart tonight and sharing the word with us. I went in tonight looking for a word from above and I received a clear word from the Lord.
Although tonight made me deeply long for OHOP, Cheryl's dynamic spirit filled prayers, Julie's pursuit of God, David's relentless passion, and my fav OHOP band, I felt blessed to know within 1/2 hour of my house there is a place to just be....of course knowing me and how I tick I am praying maybe I wont just BE there but one day BE APART of HOZ. I would love to lead worship there and get to know the community of prayer warriors that walk through those doors every week.
I am certain that as God continues to move and breathe on my calling here in the DFW area that moments like tonight will be vital for me to make the right connections and to have a place to worship, OHOP style!
Going to bed very grateful!
