People that change our lives!
I wanted to take the time to pay tribute to the life of Jim Rose from a worship pastors perspective...Back sometime seems like about 2 years ago I was walking through the auditeria at TMS and Jim grabbed my arm and said, "hey come here I need a favor." He said, "I sure would like for you to sing the song Bring The Rain" I said, "I haven't heard it" but assured him I would see if I could find it. Sometime later that week I was driving down the road and I heard this amazing song that just blew me out of the water and then it hit me this is the song Jim had told me about. As soon as I got home I immediately got on line to look up the song. I was shocked at what my ears were hearing because I remember Jim being so passionate about this song and as I listened to the words it just spoke volumes to me about this mans love for the Lord and that no matter what, he wanted his life to bring God Glory. It wasn't long until I introduced the song to the band and we had the privilege of leading our church in worship through this song. I remember many people coming up to me afterwards and saying things like wow that song is hard to sing because if you sing those words you better be sure you are willing to live it. Well I was sure of one thing Jim Rose was willing to live it and live it out loud - I will be forever changed since the day I was on the stage leading this song and I looked towards the back and Jim was out of his wheel chair standing straight up with both hands lifted towards heaven singing - "Bring me joy bring me peace bring the chance to be free bring me anything that brings You glory and I know there'll be days when this life brings me pain but if that's what it takes to praise you Jesus bring the rain"....thanks Jim for teaching me a life lesson. I know every time I sing this song I will think of you and know you are singing with the angels "Holy Holy Holy, Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God Almighty, is the Lord God Almighty." til we sing together again I hope you know your life made a difference to me.
